Nicolee Ambrose, candidate for YRNF Chair, announced today that Clay Barclay of Alabama has joined Team Ambrose as its candidate for Southeast Regional Vice Chair.
Born and raised in Mobile, Alabama, Clay Barclay is a business owner who specializes in insurance adjusting and consulting. Clay has been active in Republican politics from the grassroots level on up. Locally, he has served as Vice-Chairman and then Chairman of the Mobile County Young Republicans. Clay is also the Immediate Past Chairman of the Young Republican Federation of Alabama and he continues to serve as Chairman of the YRNF State Chairman's Association. He has also served as Vice-Chairman of the Mobile County Republican Executive Committee and he was a member of the Alabama State Executive Committee.
"My experiences with Clay as a fellow state chair have been extremely positive," said Nick Wahoff, Chairman of the Ohio Young Republicans. "His leadership of the State Chairmen's Association has made it a very productive and effective organization and I know he'll transfer those same great skills to leading his Region."
Clay has served in various capacities on many campaigns. He was a County Coordinator for Bob Riley's successful run for the Governor's office and was a door-to-door coordinator for a member of the Alabama State House. His civic involvement includes Leadership Mobile's Class of 2002 and the Boy Scout Leadership Academy Project. Clay also served on the Advisory Board for Penelope House Home for Battered Women.
