Jessica Colón joins team as Assistant Secretary candidate
HOUSTON, TX - Houstonian Jessica Colón joins Team Ambrose as candidate for Assistant Secretary of the Young Republican National Federation (YRNF).
"The next two years in YRNF with the Ambrose team in the lead will be some of the most pro-active and constructive years the organization has ever seen. It will be an exciting time to be a YR. I am very happy to be a candidate for the National Board and serve on this level," said Colón. "The YRNF will benefit from a group of officers with more 50 years of political experience between them, including a sitting elected official in Vice Chair at Large candidate, Zack Scrivner of California."
Nicolee Ambrose, candidate for YRNF Chair, said, "Jessica is a wonderful addition to our team. Her proven track record of leading a potent grassroots organization - the Houston Young Republicans, and her experience in delivering tangible results is exactly what the YRNF needs. She is a capable, honest and innovative leader and her unifying presence will add a new element of depth to our team."
Colón has been active in the political field for more than a decade. Her experience began with internships and an election cycle with a top-tier Republican political advertising firm. In 2002, she was Campaign Manager for a $1.5 million, nationally-watched GOP Congressional race. And, in the 2004 election, Colón engineered and chaired the successful effort, Project Deliver the Vote, which raised more than $65,000 and increased the 22-39-year-old Republican vote in Harris County by 17 percent in the 2004 election.
"The YRNF will benefit from Jessica's diligence, her passion for politics and the Republican Party, and her political instinct that is second to none. All of the projects we have worked on together have been topnotch, professional, and successful due to her influence and lead," said Texas Young Republican Federation Vice Chair, Rex Lamb, of Houston Young Republicans. "I wholeheartedly recommend her for the position of Assistant Secretary."
"In addition to the fact that Jessica has the qualifications for the position beyond the maximum, her energy and enthusiasm would benefit any organization on a national level. It's a good thing she's on the Republican side," said Texas Young Republican Federation Secretary, Dorian Jauregui of the Bexar County Young Republicans in San Antonio.
