In this issue, Team Ambrose is highlighting the Auditor's office. Patrick Peters of Washington State has agreed to take up the challenge. Peters brings almost 17 years of accounting experience at the law firm or Lane Powell, PC in Seattle, to the office. He is also a former State Chair and Secretary of the Washington YRs and a former chair of the Pirece County YR’s.
Team Ambrose will bring a different look to the Auditor's office. “Our mission will have two components: to open up the audit process with the addition of the audit committee and to implement a set of financial controls for the organization that will oversee how we spend our money,” said Peters. “If we are successful, we foresee that by the end of the term the office will evolve into what most companies call a controller. ”
The audit committee is an important new initiative that Team Ambrose will implement. It will have members from each region of the YRNF and the Auditor will oversee the audit. We decided on the committee approach because Team Ambrose wants to shed more light on our operations. As such, we believe that the work of the committee will allow the national board to have more confidence in the process and in our findings.
Peters concluded, “My office has much work to do and we must get it right to keep the organization going forward. We have a chance to build something special and I am proud to have a chance to be a part of it. I look forward hitting the ground running on July 10th.”
Building on their board’s earlier endorsement of Nicolee Ambrose and Tim Kolpien to lead the Young Republican National Federation, the full Alabama Convention unanimously endorsed the entire Team Ambrose ticket. In addition to their endorsement, they also voted to unit rule their delegation’s votes to send the strong message that their entire state is united in it’s backing of the entire Ambrose slate.
Past Alabama State Chair and current Regional Vice Chairman Candidate Clay Barclay said that he was pleased by the superb quality of the members of the Team Ambrose.
Incoming State Chairman Brad Unruh stated that he hoped all states would follow Alabama’s lead. “This election is critical to the future of the YRNF. It is vital that all states show up with a full voting strength delegation, and that they show up with a delegation unified in their purpose and support.”
Nicolee Ambrose said of the endorsement, “I am so pleased at the continuing support of Alabama for our Team. Alabama was one of the very first states to endorse my candidacy, and I am honored to be so strongly supported by such quality leaders as Brad Unruh and Clay Barclay.”
