Team Ambrose Announces Glenn Murphy for YRNF Secretary
SCOTTSDALE, AZ (Feb. 21, 2005) Celebrating an unprecedented nine early-state endorsements, Team Ambrose announced extra reason for cheer at the YRNF national board meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona. To a packed-house reception, Team Ambrose named Indiana State Chairman Glenn Murphy as their choice for National Secretary of the Young Republican National Federation.
Murphy joins Nicolee Ambrose of Maryland for National Chairman and Tim Kolpien of New York for National Co-Chairman.
"Glenn Murphy is an exceptional leader with impressive credentials and a communications background that is second to none. His dedication as State Chairman of Indiana's 25-club organization and his experience as Secretary of the YRNF State Chairman's Association make him a perfect choice to take the reigns as National Secretary," said Ambrose, who currently serves as the YRNF National Secretary.
Aside from his duties as Indiana's State Young Republican Chairman and SCA Secretary, Murphy serves as the Republican Party Chairman of one of Indiana's largest counties. He is also the President of December Media, an award-winning advertising and political consulting firm.
"Glenn has the political and professional expertise to craft a first-rate communications program for the YRNF. From basic public relations, to Capitol Hill outreach and member recruitment, Glenn has the skills and finesse to polish the image of the YRNF," said Kolpien.
Murphy has won three prestigious Pollie Awards for political direct mail and television from the American Association of Political Consultants as well as a Landmark of Excellence Award from the Public Relations Society of America. He has served as communications consultant for more than 100 races including Indiana Secretary of State Todd Rokita and Congressman Mike Sodrel. Murphy is also a guest communications lecturer for the Indiana Leadership Forum, Indiana¹s premier Republican educational foundation.
Outside of politics, Murphy served for four years on the Board of Directors for Haven House Homeless Shelters and was an executive board member of the River Hills Economic Development Commission. He is a fundraiser for Maple Manor Christian Children¹s Home and a member of Sellersburg Community Church. Murphy studied Journalism and Political Science at Indiana University and was an officer on the national council of Chi Phi National Fraternity.
