“Patrick brings a wealth of experience and passion to the position,” Ambrose said. “He is well respected and he is a great addition to our team. His integrity is beyond reproach.”
“I am honored that Nicolee thought enough of me to ask me to run again,” Peters said. “I believe in the action plan that Nicolee has put forward and I will work hard to put the YRNF on solid financial footing again. I am excited to have the opportunity to run as part of a team with people like Nicolee, Tim Kolpien, Zack Scrivner, and Glenn Murphy.”
Peters further added, “I make just one promise -- our audit will be done!”
Co-Chair Candidate Tim Kolpien noted that Peters’ long association with the YRNF, and his accounting experience, are important qualities for an auditor candidate. “I couldn’t be happier that Patrick has joined our team,” Kolpien said.
Eric Hartman, chair of the Washington Young Republican Federation, echoed the praise for Peters. “Patrick has been dedicated to the success of the YRNF for years. Throughout that time, one of his chief concerns has been to implement common sense accounting practices to ensure accountability in the use of our financial resources. He will do a great job.”
Peters has held various YR offices since 1995, including State Chair of the Washington YR Federation and YRNF Region 5 Vice Chair. In 1998, he was honored to be the Washington YR’s Man of the Year. He is a past member of the Washington State Republican Party Central and Executive Committees, and he has held several party offices on the County and Legislative District level. Patrick has also been active on numerous campaigns at all levels of government since moving to Washington in 1988.
Peters has been an accounting clerk at the law firm of Lane Powell LP in Seattle for nearly 17 years. In his spare time he enjoys politics, reading, travel, sports, and most especially college basketball.
