Midwest Regional Vice Chair Candidate
Tamara Baker’s passion is to grow the Republican Party by inspiring young professionals to become actively involved in grassroots politics. She learned about the difference young people can make first hand by becoming an active Republican campaign volunteer at the age of fifteen.
The breadth of Tamara’s political experience includes both sides of politics - campaigns and governance. She has been an integral part of over 25 campaigns and is currently a member of Senator Sam Brownback’s staff.
Tamara has worked with Senior Party officials to turn grassroots activists into Republican leaders. Since the founding of the Sedgwick County Young Republicans (SCYR) in 2001, Tamara helped to develop SCYR training which has enabled many of its members to run for local and state office. Currently, SCYR boasts 2 state representatives, 2 City Council members and 1 member of the local school board, proving that Young Republicans are a driving force in the future of the Republican Party.
Expanding on a proven plan, Tamara will work with the Region Directors and state leadership to ensure Young Republicans increase their impact in meaningful campaign roles and as candidates throughout the Midwest.
“By bridging the gap between YRs and the Senior Republican Party, we can ensure Republican success in 2008. I look forward to working with Team Ambrose to implement this exciting agenda,” said Baker.
