Eight Points to Success - Reforming and Revitalizing the YRNF
The overriding goal of the Ambrose/Kolpien Administration is to transform and lead the YRNF to take a prominent role in national Republican politics.
Through a shift in culture, we will be able to serve our constituents ~ our fellow Young Republicans. Through key relationships, we will learn how the YRNF can best support GOP causes. And by proving our value through results, the YRNF will be an asset to our great Party.
An Ambrose/Kolpien administration will transparently serve young Republicans nationwide by setting accountable goals and achieving tangible results in the eight following areas. The hallmarks of the Ambrose/Kolpien administration will be accountability and transparency of the executive board to the membership
I. The YRNF will add value to state organizations:
- YR state organizations will know details and be confident that YRNF officers will represent their hard work professionally at the national level
- The YRNF will provide support and materials to states and clubs to help state organizations grow
- At each board meeting, the YRNF will provide training for all levels of Young Republican leadership to help them develop successful state and club organizations
- Existing states focused on expansion and new states seeking YR charters will be encouraged to submit proposals to the YRNF on how funding contributions could help cultivate more YRs
II. Elevate awareness and credibility of the YRNF among Republican leaders and candidates at the national and state levels and work with national Republican organizations to add value to the national Republican agenda
- The YRNF will serve as a conduit from DC to the states on relaying GOP priorities
- The YRNF will work directly with leading national Republican organizations to specifically target young professionals and bring them into our organization and Party
- The YRNF will work with states to provide volunteers for targeted races throughout the country, demonstrating the ultimate value for a political organization: winning elections
III. Raise and secure necessary funding to operate and responsibly present a national political organization.
A series of national and regional fundraisers as well as personal solicitations and a limited direct mail program would be executed with an accountable timeline to sustain a budget that will include an office and professional executive director for the YRNF.
IV. The YRNF will provide the young professional voice on the critical issue Social Security
- We will coordinate with other Republican organizations to create an aggressive national media campaign to tackle .our generation's issue
- A credible YRNF can share resources to build the YRNF image among decision-makers of our party
V. The YRNF is a network of future Republican leadership
- Include regular training activities for candidate and operative development at YRNF events
- Encourage the inclusion of rank-and-file YRs at all YRNF events
- Retarget the YRLC to rank-and-file YRs and include the YRNC and SCA meetings only as additions
- Recruit new active professionals to YRNF activities to allow the YR movement to penetrate new networks for talent, money, and manpower
- Use the improved brand of the YRNF to provide mentorship for YR candidates
- Establish the YRNF as a conduit for YRs into national politics by participating in key GOP events
VI. Create a YR Alumni Association
- Have an annual event open to YR alums and rank-and-file YRs to provide a mechanism through which alums can still participate and contribute to building the YRNF.
- This association will help develop a targeted fundraising initiative.
- This association will provide a national network of Republican contacts for rank-and-file YRs.
VII. Reform site-selection process to be more transparent
- Board Meeting Committee: this portion of the committee will collect submissions for all board meeting site proposals by September 1, 2005 for all meetings occurring within this Administration. A tentative schedule for the 2005-07 term will be announced at the Fall 2005 Board meeting, with all meeting details finalized and announced at least six months in advance.
- Convention Committee: This committee will deliberate in open session at YRNF Board meetings. This committee will have a secretary. All contestants will openly compete in a transparent process.
VIII. Convene a Constitution & Bylaws Committee to substantially revise these YRNF documents
- This committee will be appointed immediately after the July elections.
- Goal: Develop a Constitution & Bylaws that will allow us to effectively self-govern as an organization of states, rather than a social organization.
- Transfer powers and share powers from the Chair to other elected officers and the YRNC.
- Provide for an enhanced role for the State Chairman's Association in the governance of the YRNF.
